Further exploration.....

After reflection I have began to further experiment with how I might put my design together. Still playing with the same imagery shape and information.
So what is the most basic information needed could it just be

the image and name?
Could a platform be put at the base of the image store a
seperate piese of info such as the flavour?

I really want to incorporate as much information as I
can within a small space. I feel the above
demonstrates this effectively.

How might i take information outside the perimeters?

Rough Ideas for branding...

I want my sweets to be branded using a character iv'e come up with a chap called Captain Hall an explorer that has found a new island full of strange fruits. He has returned home to make his fruits into sweets, so the story goes. The sweets are to be called dreams because they taste like nothing that is real, these concoctions are so tasty that they taste like the nicest dream you ever had.

To inform the overall look of my character I started to look at famous explores to get an idea of what an explorer should look like it is pivotal that this comes across in the design. So I was looking at what they wear the types of features they have etc. I also was looking at what other imagery was linked to explores i'e a looking class, ship, sea, water, maps  island etc.
All the below informed my design and has given me a starting point as to what my design should look like.

Below are a collection of famous explorers.....

Not entirely sure if my final character will look anything like this but I have a starting point.

So.... I began to look at some classic sweet imagery to inspire my own design.

By looking at this type of packaging and visuals I hope to gain an understanding of how my final packaging might develop. Here I am really looking at shape and the way information is represented, within ribbons etc.

Another thought that came to mind after sea and ship was life ring, this has kind of inspired the circular shape.

In developing these initial responses I have played with how I represent the key information.
Name- Captain Halls
Product- Candy Dreams
To do this I have used a set formula based around circles.

Could the information be laid at the bottom of a circle?

Above.... I have used a little imagery to visually communicate the idea of candy sweets......

What colours might be appropriate?
