Opening Scene....After Effects

After importing my photoshop files I began animating appropriate within after effect, below is an animation that I think might go into my final animation, after a little tweaking not sure if this will be at the start or the end undecided.

Opening Scene....Photoshop.

In order to visualise how my idea will appear on screen I have produced some more detailed story boards.
The animation starts with the sun central.
The, lowers down above the sun.
Then the T and P move in to join the sun that forms an O, making the word TOP.

All the letters and imagery fall out of the screen to leave the sun.
An eclipse moves across to black out the sun, the 1 that makes up the 10 is pushed into the shot.
The 1 and the 0 are pushed off the screen, above and below.
The word great is lowered on a platform.
The platform lowers to pick up the other letters below. The word starts to animate the i,e the G becomes a catapult.

The platform brings the 2 words together.

Opening Scene....IMAGE

After looking at type I began to draw out all the imagery hat I plan to use within the sequence.

All these images make up the opening sequence within the image below are sunbeams, conveyer belts, chains, platforms etc.

To make more sense of type and image alike I organised some documents consisting of the 2. These documents contain the layers I used in AE to put my animation together.

Opening Scene....TYPE

After exploring type on my context I decided to use Myriad Pro. After looking at the type on Screen I decided that the edges were too sharp and this did not work for the overall hand drawn elements of the animation. So I traced the original type with a light box.

I then took this type into photoshop to prepare for After effects.

Opening Scene....

I want my opening sequence to visually demonstrate all the content within my title sequence. To do this I will animate the letters to represent all the achievements of the great minds I am working with.

Below I am mapping out and experimenting with letters and image to figure how they might work together.
