Vogue- Ugly inside...Poster

My last image is making the simple point that comes in different forms and that beauty on the outside does not mean the same for the inside. Although the woman is very beautiful what she stands for is very ugly. This image has been made from ink water colour on sugar paper.

This next image is similar in its message as the previous it referes to adam and eve and the temptayion to eat the forbidden fruit this was the wrong thing to do similar to vogue this can have a damaging effect. This image has been rendered by the use of ink and careful paper layering.                           

Vogue- Keeping up with vogue...Poster

The theme of this image is bulimia, I feel young woman are blasted with images of stick thin model and the feel a pressure to keep up in an image concerned society. The results can be catastrophic although the woman looks beautiful there is a lot wrong.   

Initial drawings and photography..

I would like to make the most of this opportunity to explore the word vogue. But ore so i want to express what vogue means to me. I would like to concentrate more on the damaging impact that vogue can have on young woman i feel there is a pressure to look good all the time in society and vogue contributes heavily to that. These rules and codes that we live by are all wrong and i want to break them down.

What does vogue mean??

Word History: The history of the word vogue demonstrates how sense can change dramatically over time even while flowing, as it were, in the same channel. The Indo-European root of vogue is *wegh-, meaning “to go, transport in a vehicle.” Among many other forms derived from this root was the Germanic stem *wēga-, “water in motion.” From this stem came the Old Low German verb wogōn, meaning “to sway, rock.” This verb passed into Old French as voguer, which meant “to sail, row.” The Old French word yielded the noun vogue, which probably literally meant “a rowing,” and so by extension “a course,” and figuratively “reputation” and later “reputation of fashionable things” or “prevailing fashion.” The French, who have given us many fashionable things, passed this noun on as well, it being first recorded in English in 1571.
