Victorien food packaging.

Informed Packaging.

Sweet Dreams.

How do I combine my chosen word, image, and colours together to make an effective design?
I initially wanted my idea to be about fruit, possibly milkshakes. This would have been aimed at fruit dreams, So a banana dreams to be a banana milkshake!
I simplified this idea to sweet dream a common phrase that is easy to associate with. My image therefor is the classic outline of a sweet. the branding is dreams. Dreams occur in beds beds are comfortable so chocolate is more of a comfort so the product is now Sweet chocolate dreams, and this explains the colour.

Word: My chosen word is Dreams no surprise.
Image: Sweets of the boiled and wrapped variety.
Colours: I have chosen Purple, this is as much an informed choice as it is an association with chocolate. Informed because this is the colour I dream about the most.

Practice nets.

After designing my nets I did some initial test runs to remind me how they folded and also to see if the small modifications I had made effected how they stuck together.

Wrap it up, Design Development.

Below is some basic design development. Playing with idea of shape pattern and how the two might be combined with the Image and Word to make an effective design.

Wrap it up, Net Designs.

From the initial 5 nets I have selected 3 nets to promote and the others to package my sweets.

Promotion: I will use this net as a mail shot to promote Dreams Sweets.

Packaging 1: I have continued with the striped theme on this design I have applied both of my visuals on the front and the back of the package. On the sides I have reversed the colours to create the sweet shape.

Packaging 2: This package is suited more for public display to be hung at checkouts etc.

Wrap it up. Visuals

Here are some basic visuals I am not sure
which one I will use or if I will use both for
my final packaging, some food for thought.
